Lightning A Acres 21.01.2022

Merry Christmas from all 5 of us here at LAA! Devin, Jessica, Kaiden, Taylyn & Cambri We may be a small show stock farm, but slowly we are growing and achieving the quality of stock we always hoped we would! We are thankful to all our followers and previous buyers! Without all of you this wouldn’t be possible!... Thank You

Blitz went for a little run, got clipped and brushed and yes he’s dirty, but it’s hard to keep a white calf clean. He’s a looker

Been a hot minute since we did an update on the bottle calf. Blitz is almost 2m old now.

Lightning A Acres 09.12.2021

Blitz also was washed, dried and clipped a little. He’s such a fluffy baby! Bottle baby or not, he’s a good calf!

This hasn’t been the best year for us. We lost our only heifer calf, had to sell off 3 cows and sold our herd sire to focus on better genetics through AI. We have been blessed thou also, with 1 healthy, beautiful bull calf and a wonderful start to our Boer show goat herd. Yesterday evening we were presented the chance to buy/adopt this beautiful boy off a friend. She purchased his mother from us a couple years ago and this year just couldn’t support him milk wise, so he’s a b...ottle baby! POF Sullivan’s Frosted Whiskey We are calling him Blitz 11/4/21 BD 85 pound BW 75% SH+ papered White with blue points Sired by Manamal Dam is Sullivan’s Mona Lisa x Irish Whiskey

LAA Persistence Matters (Anna) 3/6/21 BD 5/8 Maintainer Papered Sired by Witch Doctor (old school blood)... Believe it or not this girl was a bottle baby b/c her mother was a 1st time idiot. we don’t own her anymore due to this. Anna sure doesn’t look like a bottle calf! We like how she’s growing, very lanky right now, but filling out more and more.

Tykle and Toastie are the only show goats this season, but they aren’t slackers! Tykle is sired by Code Red and is 100% papered. Toastie is 88% and a solid brick. He’s weighing around 130 right now! Tykle is a goofball who loves cookies, she’s always sticking her tongue out at me! Toastie thinks she’s a nut as you can tell!

Guess what I did today? Not gonna lie, I’m so glad that is done! I realized about 1 hour in why I don’t like painting with oil paint....the smell is terrible!!

Lightning A Acres 06.04.2021

This is going to be nice when we are all done! Next we’ll seal the floor and paint the pens and back walls!

Lightning A Acres 18.03.2021

2 late nights, but we have 3 solid pens and a feed area with a new bunny cage! Tomorrow we’ll rip the rest of the mats to fit and work on the electric and mounting fans!

Planning a year in advance in our breeding, plus many more to come! Multi tasking at it best around here: redoing a barn, planning matings through AI, getting seed and fertilizer ready for fields, plus lining out new show stock for 2022! BIG things coming for us in the future years!

Lightning A Acres 08.03.2021

Hey we have the start to some new stalls! And the new feed area!

Lightning A Acres 28.02.2021

This year has been a barn refurbish time. You have to make a mess to make things cleaner! We poured 10 yards of concrete and will be having 3 metal pens across the back that are friendly to goats and calves! The front was poured to allow a concrete wash area (same rack will be put back) and easier access to shop work that needs done in the future! This is just the start: more to come as we get things done!
