Congratulations to the winners of the LGAA Turtle Art Contest! This contest was conducted in conjunction with the Willard Stone Museum, and all entries were inspired in some way by Willard Stone’s bronze The Lucky Turtle. Winners in the Adult category were 1st, Sula Robertson for Turtle Bowl, a ceramic piece; 2nd, Bill Guthrie for a mixed media piece Thunderbird Ride; and 3rd, Roxann Yates for a mixed media artwork Turtle to Turtle. Winners in the ages 11-17 category were 1st..., Madison Vaughn for A New Turtle Island painting on canvas; 2nd, Hannah Coffelt for The World Lucky Turtle, a pencil drawing; and 3rd, Mya Phillips for Daksi, a pencil drawing. There was only one winner in the ages 1-10 category, and that was Fallon O’Dell for The Special Potato Turtle, a marker on canvas piece. All of the artwork entered in the contest will be given away as prizes for the Lucky Turtle Raffle drawing by the Willard Stone Museum. Winners will be receiving checks in the mail. Thank you to everyone who entered!
