You may recall back in May - during the darkest days of our COVID-19 economic recession - when we publicly announced we were in pursuit of a Costco back-office ...operation. It promised to be one of OKC’s biggest job announcements ever. Well, the pandemic continues to rob us of our rituals, so no public ribbon-cuttings, but I can confirm today that Costco has chosen OKC, and has commenced operations! We held a small virtual grand opening this morning. This initiative brings 1,500 new good-paying jobs to our city over the next 5-7 years, with growth potential beyond that. Thanks to the Greater OKC Chamber, the Alliance for Economic Development, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, our team at City Hall, the City Council and the people of Oklahoma City, all of whom contributed to this milestone!
