I will be informing you of our upcoming Zoom meeting on Friday, December 3, 2021. Normally, this would be our Annual Thanksgiving/Christmas celebration including our auction fundraiser. Due to the COVID we have not been able to meet. If we were to meet now, we could only have 15 attending. Thus, we will continue with Zooming. It would be good if we will come together in fellowship, to visit with one another. We would not have a Program but have the Legislators and Community Outreach people to give their information I will let you know if we will be going forth with these plans. Hope everything is well with all. If we can be of any help please let us know. God bless each of you. Carolee Maxwell, Chair

Our Chickasaw Council was the second Council to be formed with the Chickasaw Tribe (Ada Council was the 1st) . Our first organizational meeting on March 25, 1997. Mr. Robert Stephens of Purcell who was a former Chickasaw Legislator and myself of Purcell started working in 1996 with Chickasaw Citizens in nearby Counties to see if there was interest. Chickasaw Legislator Lisa Billy was serving her 1st term as Legislator at this time as well. She was encouraging, working with us to form. Governor Anoatubby was informed of all the interest from the citizens to have one in this area. He encouraged us to appoint Officers and to form our By-Laws. We have been the longest running Council to date. I was ask to give the story when we were formed. Carolee Maxwell, Chair

It is with a sad heart that a longtime Council member and friend has passed, Lee Frazier. He has served the Chickasaw Nation well. for many years. This picture says it all about Lee. I will personally miss my friend who I spent many hours laughing with him. He was a true Chickasaw. Rest in peace my friend. Carolee Maxwell

We have decided to have our Zoom meetings every quarterly. Therefore we will not be having one on March 23rd, 2021. We will be having it Tuesday, April 27th at 6:30 PM. We were thinking for the Program, we would ask all the Legislators that could attend to be available for a question and answer session. During this past year we have dealt with many problems so this would be a great time if you have questions about that problem to bring it forth. Of course, as always, we ...ask that it be a very respectful, kind time with our Legislators. I am sure if they do not have the answer that evening, they would research and get back with you privately. So this will give you enough time to be thinking of your questions. Our hearts go out to each of you that a loved one has passed, if you have had health problems or any struggles you are dealing with. I will even say, if you would like prayer, I would be glad or other members as well to pray with you. God bless each of you. Carolee Maxwell, Chair See more
