Why would one embrace suffering? Maris Health customers often inspired me, although one in particular, actually a recipient of Project Embrace, has reminded me of this wisdom. He is suffering as his body wastes away due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), although he continues to be a source of inspiration to many. This amazing gentleman chooses to see the positive and humorous side of life and his suffering. He is not avoiding the challenge; no, he is embracing the suffe...ring and finding the good in it or despite it.
