Reminder; The Mayes County Super Cow Contest Nominations are due by May 3, 2021. Awards for the Youth Winners include $250 for 1st Place, $150 for second place and $100 for third place. Awards are sponsored by the Mayes County Cattleman's Association. We also have an adult competition for Mayes County Cattleman's Association members.... Nominations are for spring born pairs born between January 1st and April 1st, 2021. Later born calves are typically are more competitive. The weigh in day is Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at the Charles Dorsey Ranch south of Pryor. Poultry Waste Management 2 Hour Continuing Education Class The 2 hour Poultry Waste Management Continuing Education classes are being offered online again this spring or If you need the training but do not have a computer or adequate internet service you can call Mike (918-825-3241) and schedule an appointment to watch the training at Mayes County OSU Cooperative Extension Office. The deadline to complete the 2 hour Continuing Education training is July 1, 2021.... Feel free to contact Mike if you have any questions.
Dicamba Training For Soybean and Cotton Growers Reminder that we have another opportunity to watch the Dicamba training for soybean and cotton growers in person here at the Mayes County OSU Extension Office this Thursday. April 15th , 2021 11:00 am 12:30 pm, Mayes County OSU Extension Office at the Mayes County Fairgrounds Event Center... Gary Strickland and Todd Baughman will provide the training via Zoom to our location. Each attendee will receive the dicamba training along with 1 CEU for their private applicator training. Please call me to make a reservation to attend the training at 918-825-3241 at least one day before the training. I have to be prepared to meet the covid-19 protocols required by OSU. This includes social distancing and everyone will be required to wear a mask. So it is important that I know how many people are attending to make sure that I can spread everyone out. I also plan to conduct some in person classes later this spring and summer for Private Applicator Continuing Education. If you have any questions please give me a call at 918-825-3241.
