What a whirlwind last 5 weeks. Last post, June 13th.. seems very right. Our last big hurrah this week (before recruitment) and we are so excited to cap this condensed wedding season at a favorite venue, with a wonderful bride, with super fun bridesmaids, an awesome band, a top notch photographer and so many other amazing industry partners. . . We’re double checking vessels and washing buckets today (#glamorous) before we go right back into wedding flower grind mode but I h...ad to take a tiny second to pop in and also a second to relive Caroline (the bouquet) and all her glory. . . When SB slipped into her dress with her chic chignon bun, she was a Kennedy. Specifically a Ralph Lauren looking, Caroline Bessett. This all white bouquet rested perfectly in her hands. . . I'm thankful for... big weddings and intimate weddings. Weddings with dogs (always). Weddings that truly reflect who the couple is. Weddings were the bride is FEELING her dress. Weddings where we get to hand deliver the bridal bouquet and she LOVES it. Decisive brides. Thankful brides. Kind brides. Realistic brides. Weddings where the dads get choked up at the toast. The last big hug at the end of the night at the end of the farewell. Amazing industry partners and friendors. ...But most of all I'm thankful that I was able to put passion into a plan and roll up all these skills into a business. Every day I go to work and I can't imagine what other career would have been a better fit. I get to be a match maker, designer, organizer, professional fixer, nerve calmer, excel sheet expert, flower slinger and set builder (which is hard to fit on a business card) and I'm just so grateful to be here doing it. We’ve been in Morocco for the past three days (highlights in my stories on @megowen2) and now we’re heading back for one last night in Paris! One whole year since I had this pumpkin. I thought she was going to rock (mmmm maybe wreck) my whole business. How on earth am I going to do all of this well and do my most important job, being a mother of two whole humans!? I’m not super anxious person but letting any of those balls drop gave me some stress for sure. (Or, maybe it was the selling of the house, the husband changing jobs, the potty training of a three year old, the taking on... a large corporate client.. WHO’S TO SAY.) . . But baby girl, we did it. With grace and gumption, we did not just survive, we succeeded. (Namely by the kindness of @margieo @mwadeowen @the_vahls @shankrone @caitlingrassy @12kimber12 and #Mamaw ) . . This is one of my all-time favorite pictures, thank you @kristenedwardsphoto for being at the right place at the right time! It’s her (10 days old, I know, I’m a crazy person) and me, on the phone with a vendor, snipping greens for place setting accents. It was a perfect balance of loving what I do, and loving who I do it for. Sister seeing mama put in a hard days work and the thrill of seeing the fruit of something you created.
