The Kettlebell has been an integral piece of my personal movement puzzle since 2010. Weaving its way in and out of favor as other practices became more attractive at different times over the years. Yet, it has always remained present in a foundational way both in how I move and coach. Lessons learned from Kettlebell have been ingrained and always show through in one way or another. It simply takes paying attention and the dots connect. I have been on a roller coaster of r...andom leg injuries over the last several years, that have seriously limited my movement practice. With my options limited, I leaned on lessons learned through patience, perseverance and believed that the body can heal if given the right formula. The healing is happening and with it, the Kettlebell is currently becoming sexy again and is moving its way back into the forefront of my practice. @a.c.w.a.combatives and helping others stay safe and get home to their loved ones has become my personal movement passion. However, along with @nutritiousmovement and @movnat, the Kettlebell now completes the core foundational principles of Mindful Body Fitness...Restore Strengthen & Protect. Had a great time with adventurous folks on today's first ever Fitness Excursion. We started at a walk then did some breathing techniques to help us discover our most sustainable pace. Then it was off to the stairs at Centennial Park where we crawled, walked and strided our way up and down. We mixed in some light climbing and hanging to round out our time there. Then it was off at an easy pace running to Tracy Park where we worked on stepping over and moving under. That built up to some stability practice which prepared us for vaulting hops. We finished up with tree limb hanging as prep for climbing and tree circles. Once that was done, we headed back to Mindful Body Fitness to cool off and get started with the rest of our day. I will plan another Fitness Excursion in the coming weeks, so stay tuned and come out to join in the fun.
