Mudd's Native American Replicas

Finally finished this knife. Lots of activities here in the shop have slowed everything down. Working on knives, guns and general winterizing the homestead! This knife is almost 11" overall in length with a 5-1/2" blade knapped from a beautiful piece of Tri-Flo Obsidian that I found lost away in my rock pile. Finally found a nice whitetail antler that was just long enough....well, almost! Lol. I added a 3/4" butt of Purpleheart to make it just right for this blade! Display stand is from a discarded piece of spalted oak that I salvaged from brother Huck's scrap wood pile....... Will go on my online offerings soon......

Knife concept #92. This blade/handle idea is starting to gel.......added a piece of Purpleheart to a nice whitetail antler that is, by itself, too short to make a good handle. Hopefully, it will compliment the 6-1/2" bi-flo obsidian blade and make a nice knife. Comments? Should I continue?

Been working on this knife for a couple of weeks. It's 11" long, with a 5" Obsidian blade. Butt is inlaid with Turquoise and initialed. Display stand is native cedar with turquoise inlay and a Whitetail Deer antler fork supporting knife. Knife and stand will be listed in my online store.

Found a handle I wouldn't use in the past......didn't like the way the handle presented when attached to a blade. However, practice with my inlay techniques is making more and more of my reject material usable again!! This 10-1/2" knife features a 5" Obsidian Blade attached to a 5-1/2" Whitetail Deer antler handle. Base of antler is inlaid with turquoise and a white cow bone button.

Just finished this knife today. It's 9-1/2" long with a 4-1/2" blade of Rainbow Obsidian. Blade is attached to handle with artificial sinew. Spare ammo (obsidian point) is cached in a pocket between sinew and handle! This unique knife will be available in my Etsy Store as soon as I make a suitable stand for displaying.
