Newcastle Emergency Management

A water line break occurred on at approximately 9:30 am at Grigsby Street in Newcastle Acres. This has interrupted service for the entire subdivision. Public Works crews are working to fix the line at this time and estimate that service will be restored by 3 pm. (Fri 6/11) Severe storms remain possible this evening. If storms develop, the main risk will be damaging wind gusts with the possibility for large hail across northern OK. Timing will be 7pm-midnight northern OK, 11pm-5am central/southern OK.

A lot of rain fell across parts of western Oklahoma and adjacent areas of north Texas overnight. The rain has generally ended, but more rain may move back into the area later this morning and afternoon, especially southwest Oklahoma and northern Texas.

Huge thank you to Ace Hardware in Blanchard for the pallet of water they donated. This water is used for rehab for the surrounding Fire Departments.

Severe Weather is expected for the next several days, with an increased potential on Thursday for central Oklahoma. Monitor weather forecast often, review your severe weather preparedness plan and have several methods of receiving warnings. Updates will be provided as we receive them.

Hot and humid conditions are expected again today with triple digit heat index values possible across much of the area. Take steps to prevent heat related illne...sses. Some strong to severe storms may develop & affect parts of the area this evening/overnight with hail and strong winds the main concerns.

Today is a transition from the cloudy, rainy stretch to a period of a bit more sun and afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Severe weather is possible at least through Thursday.

THE FIRST ANNUAL YOUTH FISHING DERBY is TOMORROW (JUNE 12th)! Parking will be available on Garrett Drive (shown in yellow), which will be a temporary northbound... one-way street, with overflow parking at the Library. It will definitely be hot, so make sure you bring water, chairs and sunscreen! We've had tons of pre-registrations and we'll do our best to accommodate everyone who comes, but please be aware it is going to be a full house.

Newcastle residents, As of 5/21/2021, OSDH is showing that Newcastle has 1 active case within our community. This is great news for Newcastle. The community has done a tremendous job wearing masks, practicing social-distancing, and getting vaccinated. Great job Newcastle!!

It's one of those days where most of the day will be dry, but you m...ay experience a brief shower and thunderstorm (or see one in the distance) at any point during the day. Just be prepared! More numerous strong to severe thunderstorms are possible late this evening into the overnight hours. Damaging wind gusts and hail are possible along with heavy rainfall.

The ramp from Highway 37 leading to Northbound I-44 (toward OKC) will be temporarily closed for resurfacing, THIS FRIDAY NIGHT, June 4th. Please find alternate routes during this time.
