The Norman Animal Welfare Oversight Committee is now accepting nominations for the Norman Animal Welfare Volunteer of the Year Award. To submit a nomination, prepare a one-page... letter of recommendation that highlights the nominee's volunteer contributions toward animal welfare and their connections to the Norman Animal Welfare Center. The letter must include name and phone number, as well as the name and phone number for the nominee. Send the completed nominations to: Norman Animal Welfare Oversight Committee, c/o Jeanne Snider, P.O. Box 370, Norman, OK 73070, or email to [email protected]. The committee will accept nominations through April 9. The award recipient selected by the committee will be honored at an upcoming Norman City Council meeting. Meet Max. This big goofball has been in our care since November 8th of 2020. He is as playful and fun loving as he is handsome. We estimate his age at about two, as an American bulldog this means that he shouldn't get any bigger. He has been in several playgroups, however was returned due to not getting along with the resident dog. We would suggest a meet and greet if you have a dog in the home already to make sure that the personalities are a good fit. Max has NO ADOPTION FEE due to length of stay. If you would like to meet him please call 405-292-9736 for an appointment today!

Update: Diamond has been adopted Ms. Diamond (18387) can be the apple of your eye. She has graduated from Guardian Angels Program. She likes other dogs and loves to play with her toys. If you want to meet this cutie call to make an appointment 405-292-9736.
Help our shelter dogs stay comfortable by donating a Kuranda Bed today! Using beds like these helps keep the dogs be more comfortable by sleeping on an elevated bed, instead of the textured concrete. We already have beds similar to this in our shelter, but wear and tear on the PVC version have left some kennels without beds. (Don't worry they still get blankets) When you follow the link below, and purchase a bed for our shelter dogs, Kuranda will ship them directly to NAW where they will be put to use reducing stress for our dogs. https://shelterbeds.org/index.php
*Adopted* This sweet girl is Panda (18131). She has had training through the Guardian Angels Program. Panda has been in our care for so long that she has NO ADOPTION FEE. She has come along way since she has been here. If you want to visit this Angel call and make an appointment at 405-292-9736.
