NWOSU Graduate Studies 03.07.2021

We are pleased to announce the NWOSU Psychology Club will be hosting its annual Ethics and Supervision trainings again this year. These workshops are for mental... health professionals working in the field. Both sessions have been approved for continuing education credit by the Board of Behavior Health Licensure and the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors. Please see the attached files for details. NWOSU will be able to host the first 25 respondents for each session (as the event will be face-to-face only). Please know the LPC board is requiring that Ethics CEUs be earned in a face-to-face setting again resuming 5/10/2021. Attendees will be hosted in a large room with plenty of room to adequately socially distance. In the morning session, Professor Allissa Miller will present: Addressing Spirituality in the Counseling Session: Ethical Considerations. In the afternoon session, Professor Taylor Randolph will work interactively with supervisors to approach supervisees intentionality within a larger developmental process. Unfortunately, digital payments will not be accepted this year. Fees will be collected the morning of the event. Licensed Professional(s): 1 session = $35, or both sessions = $60. Case Managers/CADCs: $25. Please RSVP to Rafaela Avila at [email protected] , NWOSU Psychology Club President. Again, the event will be limited in the number. So, if you do not RSVP, we cannot guarantee a seat. We hope to see you there!

Here is a recording of Dr. Holliday's talk with Enid's Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center about NWOSU's new Master of Arts in Heritage Tourism and Conservation program.

Read the wonderful things that graduate student Susan Holliday has to say about NWOSU's new Master of Arts program in Heritage Tourism and Conservation: This "The More You Know" moment was brought to you by....ME! Did you know that NWOSU offers a graduate program in Heritage Tourism & Conservation? What is heritage tourism you ask? According to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, heritage tourism is traveling to experience the places, artifacts, and activities that... authentically represent the stories and people of the past and present. It includes cultural, historic and natural resources. Doesn't that sound like a cool career to have?? I took an amazing course this semester on Sustainable Practices in Oklahoma with Dr. Steven Mackie and learned so much. This degree program prepares graduates for careers in cultural attractions, art and culture organizations, historic preservation, cultural travel, food and culture, and other cultural tourism interests and EXTENSION. Lucky me, I work in Extension! Check out this great program & email NWOSU Graduate Studies Shawn Holliday for more information. I am loving this career path and want everyone to know about it!
