Common 223Rem bullets weigh 55g, but those designed for precision are heavier and longer like these Hornady ELD Match 75g (left) and 73g (right) bullets. Despite just a 2g difference, the left one is clearly longer. It also has a more aerodynamic shape (higher ballistic coefficient). This is part of the fascinating science behind reloading, which I teach in addition to my pistol and rifle courses.

Reloaders can optimize precision by adjusting overall length. The goal is to seat the bullet so it's just the right distance back from the rifling. This may produce a markedly longer-than-standard cartridge, which may no longer fit in the magazine. These will have to be hand-fed into the chamber one by one. Fine tuning your ammo is part of the fun of reloading.
