Here are yesterday’s votes on SB1080 in JCAB that will increase tax credit scholarships to $50 M each year. It is not too late to change minds. Reach out to those you have a relationship with and to your own legislators to express your concerns and ask for a NO vote.

If you oppose sending public dollars to private schools, we invite you to join us in updating your profile pic for the next few days. Let's show our legislators... the wide support for open public schools and our concern for expanding private school tuition vouchers through tax credits. #publicfundspublicservices #publicschoolproud #oklaed #oklaleg See more

WE NEED YOU! Budget negotiations are underway at the Capitol. Thanks to NonDoc Editor Tres Savage, we now know that the Senate is working to expand the tax credit limits of the private school voucher program. Please contact your legislators TODAY and remind them that: Public funds are for public services. There's no data that shows 1) increased demand for tax credit tuition scholarships or 2) that students who receive them are more successful. Tax credits DO re...duce the overall state budget for core services - ALL of which are currently underfunded. Tax credits for private school scholarships are unnecessary. These donors may take a tax deduction just like every other charitable contributor. Income limits for qualifying families for the tax credit tuition program exceed $100,000! If this is really intended to serve low-income kids, reduce the qualifying family income amount. Ask them to OPPOSE any increase to the tax credit levels especially if the family income levels remain high. Contact your representative and senator and urge them to vote NO! We need immediate action. Find your legislators at the link below.
