Restoring refundability of the Oklahoma EITC has been one of the Oklahoma Food Banks' top legislative priorities this year. Recently, Governor Stitt signed the appropriations bill that will fund our government services in FY2022, which included restoring refundability of the Oklahoma EITC and preventing budget cuts to agencies that provide services to those in need! As Tulsa commemorates the Race Massacre of 1921, we know tolerance and equal justice still have a long way to go in our communities. The Food Bank's daily work provides access to food for any Oklahoman. Our fervent wish is that before another 100 years elapse, everyone attains equal opportunities for justice, the pursuit of happiness, and dignity.
The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma will close Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day. This weekend, we honor the men and women who gave their lives to serve our country and know we must care for the many veterans still living and struggling in our community.
