Wednesday, June 2nd............. Yes, the sun is shinning this morning and we are happy! A good sunrise to watch as I bake and a nice cool morning to get some produce gathered for the OHF store. This is where you can find fresh naturally grown produce right from our patch to your table and check out lots of other unique items too. Today's produce sign is pictured.... Oklahoma Heritage Farm store open Monday through Saturday, 9 to 6. Located on the east side of Hwy 75 - 5 1/2 miles south of Ramona or 1/2 mile north of County Road 3900.

Monday, June 1st............... Oh my, it's June already and here we are wearing jackets and mud boots to get the jobs done around here. Of course we would like to see some sunshine days for summer vegetables but thankful for the really good crops we have that like the cooler temperatures. Before the rain moved in yesterday it was a perfect day to get into the gardens and clean them up. Weeds thrive in the rainy weather so there was plenty to do but we got it done! I must... say it was nice to have to wear a light jacket to use that hoe because I have spent many a day at the end of a hoe handle in the summer heat. The ground was perfect, still a little moist but not to wet for cultivation. I also picked really nice peas yesterday. It was one of the best crops of them we have had in years just because they are a early crop that never does well once it heats up. Peas are one of the things we only grow for our own use and not to sell in the store, so it looks like peas will be on our menu in the coming year. The canning pots & supplies along with the big dehydrator will stay out in my kitchen all summer as the season commences. There are lots of evenings preserving our groceries for the coming year but it's one of my favorite places to be even at the end of some long summer days. Today's produce sign is pictured with lots of beautiful fresh from the farm to your table fixings. Check out the new size OHF salad dressing mixes to go with the salad greens. The mixes are sold in glass jars and each jar will make a total of 42 to 48 ozs. of dressing. Instructions are for 3 batches of dressing.
