OSU Extension Fruit Management

Minimum temperatures are reported from Mesonet for this morning. Looks like some areas will be fine but it depends on your individual location. Lower locations may be a couple of degrees cooler and higher elevations may be warmer than Mesonet sites. Knowing how your site compare to your local station will help with planning. Temperatures at or below 28 degrees may be showing some damage. Wait until plants warm up to look for damage. I prefer to wait a day or two to assess damage.

How are you protecting your fruit trees/plants? I didn't think it was going to be below 30 degrees in my area but now, I'm not so sure. Temperatures of 28 degrees and below can cause significant damage to green tissue. New tender growth may be damaged at temperatures slightly warmer.

Salavatski Russian pomegranate coming back from the roots. And Wednesday the new shoots are frozen.
