OMBA would like to thank all our members and friends who took up the recent Call to Action and advocated for changes to the FHFA's Adverse Market Refinance Fee. Our voices were definitely heard as over 86,000 messages went out through the Mortgage Action Alliance to legislators across the country. Because of those efforts and the efforts of many others, the FHFA has pushed back the implementation date of this fee to Dec. 1 and added several exemptions as well. #oklamba #mba #maa https://www.mba.org//mba-statement-in-response-to-changes-

As most of you have already heard, Fannie and Freddie announced last night that they will be including an "adverse market fee" on refinance loans delivered to them after September 1. It’s no secret that the fee itself and the nearly immediate effective date are unacceptable to most industry participants. The MBA along with many other public interest groups have issued a joint statement in opposition of the fee (link in comments). While they work diligently on the Hill, it’s ...up to us to do our part! Take a few minutes to contact your legislators and share the below call to action with all your contacts. To further take action, contact your senators and representatives and urge them to contact FHFA Director Calabria and the CEO's of the GSE's and insist they immediately withdraw this directive. The link below provides an easy way to do that’s. https://www.votervoice.net/MBA/Campaigns/76617/Respond
