Frederick Robert "Bob" Cornell passed away on December 12th, 2020. Bob was best friends and teammate with our SHS Founder Jakie Sandefer. He was also Jerry Pettibone's (SHS President) roommate at OU. Bob was the Quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners from 1957 to 1961 and was the winning QB in the 1959 Orange Bowl game against Syracuse. We have a picture of Bob Cornell, Brewster Hobby, Prentice Gautt and Jakie Sandefer on display at our Sooners Helping Sooners office. They... were the starting backfield for the 1959 Orange Bowl. We are sending our deepest sympathy and condolences to Donna Kay, Bob's wife of 59 years and his daughter Kim and family. Rest in peace dear friend. He will always be remembered!
