Back to the emergency supply again !

We have switched back to the City of Barnsdall for our supply. We were on our emergency supply for 2 weeks. You may be dealing with a bit of cloudy water in the next few days but it should work its way thru each area of the system within a day or so. Please continue to be aware of unusual areas of running water, new wet spots or low pressure that may indicate a leak on your water line. The pressure on our system should be at normal levels.... IF we did not have the ability to switch over to our emergency supply most of the water distruct would have been without water for almost 2 weeks. This saved a great amount of damage that surely would have been done by the freezing and bursting of water pipes. Since we were switched over to a more expensive supply of water for an extended period of time the Board will be reviewing if an small bump per thousand gallons will be added to an upcoming billing. Osage Rural #5 has been using water from our emergency supply, Evergreen ORWD #18, since Wednesday February 10th. Yes that’s 10 days and counting ! And at this point we are not sure when this will end because of the damage to the water infrastructure in Barnsdall. We know we have had some historical cold weather and running water was crucial to keep lines from freezing !... As things are thawing I F you still don’t have water or you have low pressure you may have a water leak ! I F this is the case read your meter and compare it to your last billing reading. This is the easiest way to see if there is a problem. Anything more than a double rate might indicate a leak if you ran water to keep things from freezing. Due to the extended time we have been/will be on our emergency supply it MAY be necessary to add a few dollars per thousand on our next billing just to break even. We have done all we could to keep from raising rates after our capital investment to make the emergency connection ! The board will review everything and make a decision at our next Board meeting in March. Stay warm and dry !

Osage Rural # 5 has been drawing all our water from # 18 Evergreen since Wednesday morning ! Barnsdall is experiencing alot of problems but we are not. Please only use what water as is absolutely necessary to keep things from freezing ! A steady stream for most people ! If you can put off a load or two of laundry for a few days etc. ... We know many of our customers are struggling to keep things from Freeezing! Some of you may need to run water to accomplish this. Please run only as much as absolutely necessary. A fast drip or tiny stream is usually plenty.... Thank You !
