When the demand for commodities increases but the supply is limited, it leads to a price increase in commodities. Given the current supply chain issues and the added stress of the Suez Canal blockage in March 2021, major companies, including Procter & Gamble and Kimberly-Clark, are announcing price increases that will be rolled out in coming months. Companies in the middle and end of the supply chains could experience increases in costs over the next year as the inputs to the supply chain become more limited due to an increase in demand. https://www.forbes.com//procter--gamble-will-raise-price/
