In 1968, Morton Hilbert and the U.S. Public Health Service organized the Human Ecology Symposium, an environmental conference for students to hear from scientists about the effects of environmental degradation on human health. For the next two years, Hilbert worked to plan the first Earth Day. In April 1970, the first Earth Day was held. For more information on the history of Earth Day, global clean up, events and activities, and much more you can visit https://www.earthday.org/earth-day-2021/ or https://www.epa.gov/. Today marks the twenty-sixth anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. Today, I would like to take a moment to remember the lives lost, survivors, and lives changed forever after a truck bomb was set off outside the Murrah Federal Building in 1995. If you have never had the opportunity to visit the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial and Museum, its truly is a heart touching experience. If you would like to learn more about the memorial museum, or the events of April 19, 1995, you can visit, https://memorialmuseum.com/.
