One year ago today I was shooting my very first Cesarean Section Labor & Delivery session. What an amazing and unforgettable day..... Looking back on an entire year ago from today I was sitting in the Pre-Op with a soon to be, second time around, Mommy and Daddy, who were patiently, anxiously, and nervously awaiting for the clock to strike 11am. Sitting in the room we shared a lot of laughs and stories. 11am came and they come and take Mommy to get her ready for surgery, whi...le Daddy and I wait for them to come and get us. As Im preparing myself and making sure I have everything I need, I remember watching this waiting father, pacing, jumping everytime he hears footsteps coming down the hall or voices from people walking by. How amazing it was to see the eagerness in his eyes and the happiness that overwhelmed him. When they came to get us he asked if I was ready and I said "All Set, let's go meet your daughter." With huge smiles we left the Pre-Op room and then joined Mommy in surgery. I remember struggling with trying not to get carried away with just watching Mommy and Daddy during delivery and how they were with each other. Reminding myself to "Take Pictures" every 5 seconds. Daddy comforting Mommy and playing with her hair while holding her hand. And then the look on their faces when they hear that little cry for the very first time. The nurses bring this gorgeous, tiny little baby girl over to the cleaning table to get her all cleaned up and Daddy follows, looking over at me and says "We did it!" with huge tears in his eyes and I reply back "You did it."
