Monday we lost a friend and fellow officer. Douglas Chad Goodner served as an officer with Collinsville Police for ten years before deploying to Afghanistan with the Oklahoma Army National Guard. We are alerting the public to a program between the Oklahoma District Attorney’s Council and Oklahoma Tax Commission’s Uninsured Vehicle Diversion Program that has installed cameras across the state to read license plates and automatically issue letters and notices to vehicle owners who are operating vehicles without proper security verification. Residents who do not have their vehicles properly insured could receive a notice from a company named REKOR about non-compliance an...d citations. Citations issued are sent via mail to the vehicle owners from a center in Tulsa. Those who receive a letter under this program, and who have questions or concerns, can call (405) 806-8833 or email [email protected]. A sample copy of the letter is below. This is NOT A SCAM and those contacted should respond as instructed. The program has cameras installed across the state and it identifies about 7,000 uninsured vehicles a day. To be clear, this program has no association with the Ramona Police Department. We are only notifying the public about the legitimacy of the citations sent through the mail. See more
