Similar to last year, the artist roster is a large-scale international affair composed of contemporary emerging and mid-career artists including myself Alicia Piller, @bybmoore , Bryan Keith Thomas, Bryan Lee Tilford, Calvin Clausell, Jr, Connie Kurtew, Dread Scott, Edyta Pachowitz, J. Michael Walker, Kevin Demery, Maya Iman, Muna Malik, Najee Dorsey, Nina Buxenbaum, Oluseye, Patrick Henry Johnson, Patrick Dougher, Ransome, and Steve Prince. . The artists were asked to grapple with some of the most pressing issues of our time such as globalization, the pandemic and the constant volatile nature of race relations affecting people living on the margins of society. Random thoughts turned into paintings. In the 14th amendment of the constitution of the United States of America it states that African Americans were to be seen as 3 fifths of a man. That feeling is still shared by entirely to many with some people thinking even less of black people and other POC. The crazy part about this to me is that many of the so called forefathers of America and the men and women who still share this idea claim to be of Christian faith. I could be wro...ng but I thought the Christian Bible declares that we were created in Gods image. As a matter of fact I’ve read Genesis 1:27 many of times and it says So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them... we were created in the image of a King. SOLD My painting The Chair arrived in NYC on Monday, was unboxed yesterday and the video shared today for the opening of the show 21 Piece Salute at @bws.gallery tomorrow that runs through the 19th of next month just SOLD. This painting I’ve mentioned several times before since creating it is one of my personal favorites that I’ve created so far this year.
