Join us on Saturday, July 17 for the public program, the Amazing World of Bats! This bilingual (English and Spanish) program will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. We’ll have a variety of crafts and activities, as well as a mammalogy expert and a representative from WildCare, a local animal rehabilitation center, on-site to answer all your questions! All activities are free with general admission and advance reservations are not required. Our next family program, A Night with Bats, takes place from 8 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 23! Join us as we explore the life of bats. After a short exploration and introduction with a museum scientist, we will travel by caravan to a local park to encounter high-flying mammals and more! Spend your weekend uncovering the mysteries of darkness with our newest temporary exhibit, In the Dark! We're open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Advance reservations are not required.
Hundreds of eyes, glowing in the darkness... it's not a horror movie, it's just a really cool adaptation! Come along as we explore how an adaptation called tapetum lucidem helps nocturnal animals see in the dark.
