Scissor-Tail Yarn & Fiber Mill

A couple of cones of lace weight yarn (angora rabbit, silk, & merino wool) will be heading to a knitting mill in the next couple of days to be made into lovely things!

I get folks asking me if I teach classes for dyeing, which I don’t because I don’t know enough yet. But if you are one of those people or are interested in learning how to dye your yarn, this will be a great workshop to learn how to dye using various methods. Mohair! Which comes from an Angora goat. It’s quite nice. It has a beautiful sheen and is soft to boot

I’m getting ready to skein this lovely Shetland wool. It’s one of ten fleeces this customer sent to us. All different colors and all Shetland wool. They’re quite lovely!

I planted for germination, indigo seeds for blue, madder seeds for red, and (I forget) seeds for yellow. So in combination, I think I should get some level of purple maybe? We’ll see.

This is a custom order super Bulky 3 ply yarn for a friend. I like how it’s turning out!

This should result in a yarn with a hethered look to it. I’ll let you know.

Made some core spun yarn today. It’s brown alpaca wrapped (frosted) in white alpaca. It’s soooooo soft!
