The Tres Amigos would like to Congratulate John Pizzarelli for winning a GRAMMY last night for: Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album ‘American Standard’ - James Taylor (Co-Produced by John Pizzarelli & James Taylor!)... The son of swing guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli (Tonight Show Band - also recognized last night as a treasure the music industry lost last year), John not only Co-Produced the album, but also played his famous 7-String Guitar on virtually every song. Just as he did with Sir Paul McCartney on his album 'Kisses on the Bottom.' This world-renowned guitarist and singer, has established himself as a prime contemporary interpreter of the Great American Songbook and beyond, with a repertoire that includes Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and The Beatles. He hosts a national weekly radio show, 'Radio Deluxe with John Pizzarelli,' with his wife, singer and actress Jessica Molaskey on Sirius XM Radio. We (the Tres Amigos) have been fortunate to have him appear 4 times at the UCO Jazz Lab in our Tres Amigos Productions Concerts! No doubt, he will be back when ever we can play live music again!
