Notes From my message A Father’s Love Luke 15:20-21 Billy Graham said, if I have any regrets in life, it’s that I didn’t get to spend enough time with my children! ... Fatherhood must be important if he felt this way. In Vs 20 A) His Father Saw Him at a great distance. 1. The father sees you at a long way off. You may be way out there, but God sees you! While you are out there doing what you don’t want your daddy to know about, your Heavenly Father see you. In Vs 20 B)His Father Had Compassion On Him. 1. No matter how far away you may run and no matter what you have done, a father has compassion on his child. 2. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. ... The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. Vs 22 says C) His Father Covered Him Brings out the best robe 1. The robe covers all inadequacies. 2. God covers our shame. In Vs 22 D) His Father put a ring on his finger 1. The Ring is a sign of identification. 2. It means he belongs to someone. 3. The ring identifies me as being connected with somebody 4. 2 Corinthians 1:22 says Jesus, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. 5. We belong to him, 6. no matter how far you fall from God he’s still willing to put his ring on you. 7. Jesus is married to you, giving you his name. 8. Sin doesn’t stop God from loving you. In Vs 22 E) His Father put shoes on his feet. 1. Guidance and direction. The greatest thing a father can give his child is guidance. 2. Young people understand that your parents are trying to point you in the right direction. n Vs 23 F) His Father got the fattest cafe. 1. The best cafe. The most expensive cafe. The one he invested all in. The fattest cafe. 2. God gave his best for you. 3. The father loves you so much. 4. John 3:16 5. He loves you so much that he gave us Fathers and Spiritual Fathers The love the Father has for you is more than you can imagine. Thank God Jesus told this story! Thank God Jesus died for sinners! Some church folks said you won’t never make it! Some church folks mad because God gave you another chance! Some church folks just like the elder brother mad because God throws a party just for you! God has not given up on you! The elder brothers might not like it, but I don’t care what they like! You may have skeletons in your closet but God still loves you just as much as those that don’t have any skeletons! Thank God that he don’t hold my past against me! Thank God he saw me and he wants me to come home! Thank God when I mess up, he gives me another chance! I don’t care what that older boy says, I’m going to the party! A Fathers Love God Bless You!
